Molded PTFE Sheet will serve well in a wide range of temperatures from (-)180C to (+)260C. With a wax-like surface to which hardly anything sticks. Molded PTFE Sheet has the lowest coefficient of friction of all known solid materials, and also has the best electrical properties of all plastics, including high arc resistance.
PTFE is a fluorocarbon. It offers superior heat resistance (up to 500° F / 260°C) coupled with excellent chemical resistance and lubricity. Very few materials will stick to it. PTFE is inert to almost all chemicals, cannot be dissolved, and exhibits no moisture absorption. Typical applications include chemical mixing rod, bearings, gaskets and diaphragms in meters, chemical pump liners, bushings, and containers for corrosives, valve seats, balls, thrust washers, seal rings, transformers, capacitors, relays and electrical push rods. PTFE is also being used widely in the food and medical industries.
